Pia Meier contributes her expertise as Head of Human Resources and member of the management team at Seidel GmbH & Co. KG. Ilona Roth is a member of the University Council as Deputy Chairwoman of the Board of Sparkasse Giessen , and Oliver Schneider joins the board as Managing Director of Römheld GmbH Friedrichshütte.

Before the first working meeting of the newly composed committee, the President invited the members of the university council to a campus walk. The members had the opportunity to gain an insight into the research area of ​​X -ray imaging. At a lunch together, a first getting to know each other took place in a relaxed atmosphere.

In the first working session, Prof. Prof. Dr. Ralph Stengler elected as the new chairman of the university council. The former president of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences had previously held the position of deputy chairman. Oliver Schneider is now at his side as a deputy.

The university council and the presidium of the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) have come together to welcome five new members of the University Council.There were important topics such as the annual financial statements and the development planning of the THM. The Hessian University Act (HessHG) defines the tasks of the university council and grants the committee an initiative right in basic matters and a central role in university development planning. According to the HessHG, the committee must be involved in different facts in the form of recommendations, statements or approvals.

The half of the committees are proposed by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Art and Culture (HMWK) in coordination with the presidium , while the other half is nominated by the presidium in behavior with the Senate. The term of office of the members of the university council is usually four years and their appointment is carried out by the HMWK.
