The Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM), the host institution, was delighted with the dedicated organization on site. Dagmar Hofmann, head university sport at THM, praised the efforts of the approximately 30 volunteers from the Mengerskirchen Athletics Club. They had set up a professional course with electronic timing on a meadow at the sports center. Spectators enjoyed an exciting championship, with participants running on a sometimes challenging course.

In the 32 participants from 17 universities, the women had to run a total of five and a half kilometers in one small and five large laps. For the men there were seven big laps of one kilometer each. In the women's competition, the two runners Vera Coutellier and Anna Gehring from the University of Cologne pulled away from the rest of the field shortly after the start. Towards the end of the run, Gering increased the gap decisively and thus achieved the title of German University Champion. Nele Weike from the University of Paderborn secured third place.

In the men's race, Kilian Schreiner from THMmanaged to take the lead early on, and he didn't give it up until the finish line. In doing so, he secured this year's championship title. Second place went to Lorenz Rau from the University of Marburg. Yannik von Soosten from the University of Kiel was only 55 seconds behind in third place.

A team classification came about only in the men's class. The University of Heidelberg won the team ranking ahead of two teams from the University of Kassel. The award ceremony was carried out by adh board member Dirk Kilian, Dagmar Hofmann, Christina Paulencu (THM) and Norbert Stein (DC Athletics). Everyone was satisfied with the course of the event and the sporting performance.
