Renowned scientists shed light on the diverse implications of generative AI models such as Chatgpt, Gemini, Stable Diffusion or Midjourney.

From May 28, 2025 to July 9, 2025 on Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m.

A series of lectures as part of the Collegium Gissenum un der Gießenhe evening talks cognition and brain, organized by the Institute for Philosophy and Professorship of General Psychology and Cognition Research at the Justus Liebig University Giessen in cooperation with the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen

These systems have long since reached a level of performance that can hardly be distinguished from human performance in some areas. This raises basic theoretical and practical-political questions: How do these models work? What cognitive skills do you simulate, how do you differ from our own and what does this mean for our self -image? What ethical and political challenges arise from your commitment? Can we rely on the results of the AI? Where do we have to limit the use of AI in the future? How do we deal responsibly with her?

The interdisciplinary series brings together perspectives from computer science, philosophy, psychology, ethics and cultural studies. Together we want to understand what opportunities and risks are associated with the use of AI - and where limits will have to be drawn in the future.
