Universities of applied sciences are said to generate little research output compared to universities. Yet, UASs make a significant contribution to the research landscape. In contrast to basic research at universities, UASs specialize in practice-oriented, applied research. Research is a high priority at THM , as demonstrated not least by the establishment of eight interdisciplinary Centres of Competence . What are the research opportunities at UASs? How can one's own research activities be combined with teaching responsibilities? What support services are available at THM?

We'll explore these and other questions in this panel discussion moderated by Emily Härtel. Lecturers from various THM Department will provide insights into their daily work and research projects. The discussion will be complemented by the Head of the Department for Research and Young Academics. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions in an open discussion session and then chat with one another over finger food and drinks.
