Language models, or rather LLMs (Large Language Models), have created completely new application possibilities and brought a lot of attention to the topic of artificial intelligence. This lecture will explain their basic functionality and describe where such systems are already being used. In addition, potential is highlighted and possible consequences for individuals and societies are discussed.
