Speaker Mischa Spelkus, Dementia Dementia of Diakonie Lahn Dill

The digital foster group enables an exchange between people who maintain their relatives - whether employees or students. Every appointment has a special focus.

This time the focus is on dementia.

Dementia is a complex disease that influences the behavior and cognitive skills of a person. A better understanding of the symptoms and the course of the disease helps relatives to better manage the challenges. To deal with the disease helps

  • better to respond to the wishes and needs of those affected,
  • to find suitable help offers and support,
  • to improve the quality of life of those affected by suitable activities
  • To develop strategies to coping with emotional and physical stress.

Mischa Spelkus from the Dementia Counseling Center of the Diakonie Lahn Dill provides an insight into the various forms of dementia, informing about the clinical picture, symptoms and treatment options, as well as possible support services.
