A new course at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen is starting. In research and development, THM teams create innovations for industrial practice. The university is expanding its international cooperation network, thereby opening up additional opportunities for students to study abroad. A graduate's thesis receives a prize. A new professor has started work. The THM invites you to public lectures. Here you will find news from teaching, research and university life as a whole.
Artificial intelligence in medicine

Digitalization in healthcare means Further steps. However, corresponding health innovations often meet with reservations due to their supposedly high complexity. In order to reduce this, comprehensive and structured information is required, to which the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen ( THM ) would like to contribute.

More freedom for people with dementia thanks to crossing the Alps
- details
How many kilometers does a person cover when crossing the Alps? That's what Vincent Dern wanted to know. The enthusiastic athlete is a student at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen ( THM ) in Friedberg and, thanks to this question, has been co-founder of a start-up since the summer. But instead of measuring sporting performance, it is intended to give people with dementia more freedom: Clever Sole.

THM is expanding its Asian network
- details
The Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen will cooperate with several Thai universities in teaching and research. This is the result of a journey that Prof. Dr. Rahamatullah Khondoker (Department of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Data Processing) and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Penirschke (Department of Information Technology – Electrical Engineering – Mechatronics) took us to various universities in the Southeast Asian country.
Official agreements (Memorandum of Understanding), which primarily concern the exchange of students and teachers between the Thai universities and the THM as part of joint study and research projects, form the basis of future cooperation.
This expands THM 's foreign partner network to include three of Thailand's most renowned universities: the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) located in the capital Bangkok, Walailak University (WU) in the south and Chiang Mai University (CMU) in the north of the country.
At the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding at WU, the Computer Sciences and Computer Engineering departments there were particularly interested in exchanging ideas with THM . The CMU also offers very good conditions for cooperation with its departments of Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering. There, as well as at the AIT, the two THM professors also discussed the modalities of an international double degree with their respective interlocutors.
The partnership is intended to enable Thai students, for example, to complete part of their academic training at the THM in Friedberg in the completely English-language engineering master's programme in Control, Computer and Communication Engineering.
Through this initiative THM is continuing its commitment to cooperation with Asian universities. Last year it began exchanges with universities in Bangladesh and India - financially supported by the EU and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
