From March 4 to March 8, 2024, the workshop week of the Working Group on Language Centers took place at Higherans EV (AKS). The AKS is an important network and association with over 150 members from Germany, China, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.

Also Dr. Christine Beckmann from the Language Center of the THM contributed to the programme through a workshop. The workshop week was under the frame topic "From practice for practice: Current developments and projects at the language centers of the AKS eV".

Under the frame topic "From the practice for practice: Current developments and projects at the language centers of the AKS EV" The workshop week offered a rich platform to promote regional cooperation and regional exchange. Various workshops were the focus, which covered a variety of topics that are relevant for the work of the member institutions.

Dr. Christine Beckmann, Head of the Language Center at the THM in Giessen , also led a workshop on "Teaching Technical Language in an Action-Oriented Way" together with Dr. Fabienne Quennet from the Phillips University of Marburg. In addition to in-person participants, other interested parties joined digitally. Representatives from Hesse, in addition to the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen and the Phillips University, also participated in the workshop week.

The AKS workshop week was not only an opportunity to expand specialist knowledge and share proven practices, but also a lively example of the strength of the network and the common passion for language formation and funding. Events such as these targets to strengthen the collaboration and the exchange between the language centers and to improve the quality of voice training at universities.
