Trying out and researching creates a thirst for knowledge!
Our society is constantly developing technologically and needs junior staff in all areas. Our task is to encourage young people, and girls in particular, in their interest in technical and scientific phenomena. To this end, we have developed projects and campaigns that focus on motivation and the promotion of interests. More is currently under construction and will be successively added here.
Hessen technical school for young women

MINTmit
Together with the Central Hesse Regional Management and the Giessen district, THM was able to secure funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to jointly promote STEM education for children and young people in the Central Hesse region. Starting in 2023, the goal is to establish a strong Central Hesse STEM network, in which all activities are well-connected and communicated transparently. THM will open its STEM labs with experiments for children and young people and develop a new mobile STEM programme to reach the target group directly in their hometowns. A girls' STEM club is planned specifically for girls.

MINTwith Action Days 2025
Discover MINT in Central Hesse!
From 10th to 13th June 2025, universities, institutions, science centers, regional companies, extracurricular learning locations, clubs and associations will offer four days of exciting experiments and hands-on activities for entire school classes in grades 5-10. The joint action of all MINT actors in Central Hesse creates a high level of regional attention for MINT funding and inspires children and young people about MINT.

Doing MI(N)T for girls
We invite girls between the ages of 10 and 16 to try them out and, for example, to create the virtual reality with 3D scanners or to get to know artificial intelligence better. For this we organized free workshops with different topics under the motto "Mi (s) T for girls" in cooperation with "personnel development and equality" and the corresponding Department .
