Project management and IT consulting

Being both service and solution oriented, we support the THM in projects of various sizes and accompany them in project management and the implementation of a wide variety of projects.

We offer methodical and structural support for internal and cross-university projects. This can be done in a wide variety of ways and individually adapted: Our offer includes, for example, best practices and templates that have already been created. We also advise on the use of tools for collaboration (online collaboration tools such as Intrawiki) or support you with project setup. This happens hand in hand with other departments or departments of the THM . In this way, we can work together with others on an interdisciplinary basis and regularly coordinate various IT initiatives.

We offer established structures for orientation and communication across various projects and support the involvement of the necessary committees. Our toolbox has a variety of tools from classic to agile, which can be used flexibly and contextually. Through the use of collaborative tools, a transparent project status is available at all times and documentation is already being created.

We record requirements from the university via fillable project profiles and use this to conduct demand management, which together with the projects that have already been completed gives us an overview of the THM project portfolio.

Business processes in digitization

Making processes and responsibilities visible by mapping business processes represents an important communication basis that is required for digitalization projects. In this way, we identify connecting points and interfaces between those involved and/or IT systems. This also helps with the reorganization of processes and is the basis for digitalization projects. Depending on your requirements, we support you in change management. This includes the systematic collection of requirements and the involvement of those involved in the change. Advice on compliance issues related to digitization

For us, advising on compliance means supporting you with questions about laws, guidelines and codes.

With license management, we ensure compliance with the software manufacturers' licenses and advise everyone involved within the university on the requirements for legal and cost-efficient use of software. We prepare data protection issues that arise within the framework of a project together with the project participants and present them to the data protection officer for examination and assessment.

In information security, we support and advise internally or in cooperation with other universities on the development, conception, implementation and monitoring of current IT security measures in close cooperation ITS. This also includes the market analysis and evaluation of IT security products, the coordination and implementation of university-wide training courses and events on IT security topics, and the processing of IT security reports.

With regard to accessibility in all digitization projects, we work closely with BliZ.

As part of supporting digital transformation processes, one of our main goals is to network university members, for example by finding the right contact person. We are happy to support you in project communication and accompany you through all processes that arise in connection with your IT project.

Through our standardization (e.g. in project documentation and business process management), we provide further building blocks for the knowledge management of the THM, which is becoming more and more comprehensive and provides transparent information. We are in contact with other universities via various networks on digitization aspects and can therefore benefit from their wealth of experience for the THM and make our know-how available.

We in the Department for Digitization are available and responsible throughout the university as contacts for your digitization projects. Cross-functional contacts in networks and committees ensure a direct line to all stakeholders and help to find solutions for your concerns together.
