University profile

The Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen ( THMfor short) was founded in 1971 and is one of the largest German "Universities of Applied Sciences" (HAW). It has the most students among the five state HAWs in Hesse. The contemporary and practice-oriented course profile has twelve departments and the dual study programme of “StudiumPlus" carried.

The THM has its roots in the middle of Hesse and, like its partners, acts in a supra-regional and international environment. The three campus areas at the main locations Gießen, Friedberg and Wetzlar are located in Central Hesse - a region shaped by the Lahn just outside Frankfurt am Main, which is characterized by a high quality of life and economic power.
