With the ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in March 2009, the Federal Republic of Germany and thus also the State of Hesse committed themselves to implementing inclusion in schools. In relation to the school, the right of disabled pupils to support in lessons at general schools is derived from this.

As part of this offer, we carry out measurements at a freely agreed location, for example at your school. The main target group are complete courses/classes that deal with the topics of radioactivity or soil (e.g. advanced or basic courses in physics, chemistry or geography). Every year up to 170 schoolgirls between grades 5 and 10 get an insight into the so-called "MINT fields of study and professional fields" on Girls' Day at the two study locations of the Technical University of Central Hesse in Gießen and in Friedberg in order to inspire them for these subjects . "MINT" stands for mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology.

The Environmental, Hygiene and Safety Engineering (UHSI) course offers a series of laboratory experiments and an excursion to introduce high school students to the topic of environmental engineering. Environmental technology deals with the preservation of our livelihoods through the use of technologies. The techniques that are used are very diverse. It's about the purification of waste water and exhaust air, the remediation of soil or analysis to measure pollutants.

Visit to the observatory of the Trebur Astronomy Foundation
The Trebur Astronomy Foundation operates one of the largest telescopes in Germany. The Treburer 1 meter telescope is also used for guided tours by visitors. It is one of the largest publicly accessible telescopes in Europe, which is also used for visual observation. So everyone can look through the telescope with their own eyes and see the moon, the stars and practically all visually observable celestial objects for themselves.

Networking opportunities for teachers
The FORUM schule@hochschule is a joint offer of the THM , the Justus Liebig University Gießen and the network learn from each other. It offers the opportunity for permanent networking, exchange and continuous cooperation on the subject of study orientation. Cooperation takes place at the working level between the universities, grammar schools and technical colleges.
The aim of the network is to create both a benefit for the study orientation of the students and for the interface between schools and universities in the Central Hesse region.
