3D printing for beginners

In the open workshop Open A5

Crafting, working and suddenly a part is missing? No problem with 3D printing! From the idea to the finished part in a few minutes, for just a few cents.

Due to its wide range of possible uses, 3D printing is now being used very successfully as a tool in many areas and almost every course of study: from engineering to marketing or architecture. Objects that are visualized haptically ensure faster understanding and greater interest than the theoretical 2D representation on paper

In our day workshop, you and your class will get a comprehensive impression of 3D printing and can even try it out yourself:

  • Overview of the most common 3D printing processes
  • FDM 3D printing in detail
  • Design with common CAD software (TinkerCAD or Inventor)
  • Slicing (setting for adequate pressure) in theory and practice
  • Independently print the previously created construction
  • Post-processing with subsequent function test or visual evaluation.
