Mathematics in transition - professional exchange between university lecturers and teaching staff

What mathematical skills do students from different schools have when they come to the university? What prior mathematical knowledge does studying at the THMrequire? – Creating transparency in these issues at the transition from school to university is the aim of the math subject exchange.

The exchange meeting between representatives of the university and the surrounding schools takes place at regular intervals on different topics under the leadership of Prof. Martin Bokler (Professor of Mathematics and Didactics).

The professional exchange enables a mutual exchange about current developments in mathematics teaching at schools or the THM, sensitizes to difficulties in the transition from school to university, searches for solutions to these difficulties and gives an insight into which mathematical competencies at the university for MINT Degree Courses are required.

This time the role of AI in math lessons and the teaching will be in focus. The possibilities and limits of artificial intelligence for learning and teaching in this subject are discussed. How do schools and universities react to these new developments? In an excursus, offers are presented that offer school classes the opportunity to learn how mathematics are taught at the THM .

This year's expert exchange will be moderated by Meike Hölscher, Prof. Silke Bock, and Lea Naujoks. The team of moderators works at the Center for Cooperative Teaching and Learning (ZekoLL).

The detailed programme will be happy to refer to this year's Mathematics specialist exchange flyer.
