Extended reality can support teaching in many ways, e.g. by providing a virtual space for an international setup. Instead of solely looking at a computer screen, interaction between participants is possible that is close to reality. Furthermore, things are possible that extend our reality (e.g. moving extremely quickly to a different environment, such as taking students from the lecture hall to the library or laboratory). Objects can be created and handled in a 3-dimensional space. This contribution presents various technical solutions (e.g. Apple Vision Pro, Quest 3) and discusses the current situation and the implications for future learning scenarios.
