Development

The "Studies & Business" support association was founded in 1975 as a non-profit organization (within the meaning of the German Tax Code) and is based in Giessen at the departement Business Administration of the Technical University of Central Hesse. Since the realignment of its activities and expansion of its objectives in 1995, it has achieved an impressive track record, as evidenced by the increase in supporting corporate members and individual memberships.

The great interest shown by companies and economic institutions in closer cooperation with the departement of Economic Affairs is not only a matter of the desired, public-facing promotion of the departement 's culture and activities, but is also due to the tangible service advantages that corporate membership brings.

The great popularity of the support group's offers and activities among graduates can be explained by the fact that, through individual membership, they remain integrated into the departement culture, which, with its undergraduate and postgraduate study programs, is characterized by the idea of ​​lifelong learning.

Naturally, all professors in the departement of Economics are also individual members of the sponsoring association. In doing so, they contribute to the promotion of young talent and demonstrate their connection to business practice in general and to regional companies and institutions in particular.

Due to exceptional contributions to the field of economics, the general assembly may, upon the recommendation of the board, confer honorary membership upon individuals. Honorary members are exempt from paying membership fees and otherwise have the same status as individual members.
