Content and objectives
Students acquire the professional knowledge and skills for a holistic view and application of People Management .
They are familiar with key design and management tools in human resources, such as modern compensation and performance appraisal systems, as well as employee selection and development procedures. Furthermore, they understand the specific application requirements of these tools. Students acquire practical basic knowledge of labor law issues necessary for handling daily tasks in human resources. They understand the operation and functionality of integrated, standard business application software.
Assessments are typically completed through a presentation or an exam. The Major is modular in structure, and all modules can also be taken as electives.

Occupational and professional fields
As a 'generalist', you advise managers on all HR-related matters as an HR consultant, and as an HR manager, you are responsible for recruiting, motivating, and retaining employees. You work closely with management, the works council, and HR staff. As a 'specialist', you work in areas such as recruiting or employee development. In HR administration, you handle all administrative tasks, such as creating contracts and processing payroll. These roles are available across various industries, primarily in medium-sized and large companies.
Career prospects
Human resources professionals are always in demand, regardless of whether the economic climate is booming or challenging. Given the shortage of skilled workers, recruitment and employee development are becoming increasingly important. Demographic shifts, changing societal values, and the increasing digitalization of the workplace are also contributing to overall positive career prospects. Professional flexibility is high, as People Management is not tied to specific industries, regions, or company sizes. Earning potential is also competitive with other business administration roles. Graduates of the People Management Major can either directly assume challenging and responsible positions within a company or pursue a subsequent master's degree.
