What are the main objectives?

The BIP focuses on concepts and recommended practice for curricular integration of learning opportunities to develop transferable competencies which are of particular importance for both academic and professional success. Supplemental courses as well as those that are integrated into the curriculum will be considered.

The aim of the BIP is to develop different pathways for a curricular integration of course offerings to address the development of transferable competencies. We want to share good practices and develop concepts that can be adapted and further developed by each university to meet its specific needs. To this end, the participating universities will present relevant organizational structures, processes and existing examples of implementation. They will then jointly develop new prototype concepts to enhance the range of learning opportunities at each of the partner universities.

The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) will be hosted by the team of the Centre for Cooperative Teaching and Learning (ZekoLL) of the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (Gießen, Germany) and aligns with the theme “Student Support” of the BIP at the Tallinna Tehnikakõrgkool (Tallinn, Estonia) in December 2024.

How will we work together?

 The BIP methodologically relies predominantly on interactive and cooperative work formats. It incorporates the various experiences of all participants, addresses current challenges and enables individual approaches of the partner universities to develop solutions.

An excursion to another university location is also planned in order to incorporate different perspectives and at the same time create further networking opportunities in the context of transferable competencies. This fosters further exchange between participants and with peers at the excursion destination.

The method "future workshop" will enable participants to develop creative solutions and reflect on them critically to ensure a promising implementation.

With this BIP, we aim to produce cooperatively developed, prototypical concepts for the curricular integration of transferable competencies. Building on this, all participants can begin to develop an individual concept during the BIP that can be further adapted to the specific needs of their own university after the BIP.
